South of Addis to Arba Minch - taking the southwestern route

In Addis Abeba we stay in the Taitu Hotel. The lovely food, the croissants and the Machiato are so welcome! We rest our butts, fill up our fat reserve and overhaul our bicycles. There are also other lovely travelers to meet.
We leave Addis towards Arba Minch on a less travelled route that will take us to the Lower Omo Valley and Lake Turkana into Kenya. It's the only option we have to cycle all of it.
What if the one legged man is left legged?
The one legged man toilet! What if the one legged man is left legged?

When 1 1/2 days of human work cost less than 10 minutes of lawn-mower...

Poverty starts right in front of the hotel entry!

How many crosses can you make out?

No, he's not up for adoption!!! Although we think everyone would take him right from the spot.

How clean is this truck going to be?

Never leave the house without handbag. Even if it is not Louis Vuitton!

What are the farenji doing??? Life must be sooooooo boring without us.

Ah..... a smile!

A picture sometimes tells more than a thousand words: what is the story behind this one?

Farenji feeding time in the zoo: looking out of the hotel garden, or looking in..

Buying lunch...

  1. Irgendwie erkenne ich gewisse Verhaltensmuster... da muss man ja froh sein, wenn man ein wenig im Hinterland ist, wo es keine grösseren Strassen hat. Freue mich bereits wieder darauf...
