Long time ago, we were traveling in Israel, but can publish it now only! (We left Sudan!)
Our main reason to go to Israel was to visit our friends in Ta'oz. We had met them a year earlier very close to home while they were ascending the Weissmiess. Due to bad weather conditions we spent some time together and they came to see us in Bern, lucky us! Since then it has been an on growing friendship and we took the advantage of being in the neighborhood and "dropped by"!
We flew in from Istanbul to Amman, cycled to the Dead Sea and up on the other side. Although Jerusalem is "only" 800 m above sea level, you start at -400 m!!! it's a long way up!
What was meant to be a short visit turned out to be a month long stay, since first they wouldn't let us go (thanx Michal!), then Chantal fell sick, and then, since being around, we "had" to visit/cycle Israel and Palestine.
