Daressaalaam & Ras Bamba - holiday from cycling

We arrive tired and a little weary in Daressalam at our friends' place. First they offer us a roof in their very nice house in Daressalam and then they invite us to stay at their ecolodge hotel in Ras Bamba (www.rasbambaecolodge.com). The lodge is situated in a very beautiful area along a lovely beach south of the capital. We enjoy our stay in the specially nice banda, the beautiful location, the quiet and lovely walks on the beach and the wonderful swahili cooking of our hosts Flora and Dieter.
Thank you very much!

The "white house" is the accommodation of Flora and Dieter in Ras Bamba, the grass-roofed bandas are the beautiful places where the guests have their own refuge.
Impressions of the "white house"...

The ecolodge compound is spacious, so everyone has his/her privacy...
Morning view from our banda...

Raindrop-shower under the open sky. We didn't' want to leave anymore...

Inside view of our "little" R&R heaven. Notice the prepared beach bag!

This old mosque is in the premises of the hotel, it has been restored.
Little visitor from the big Indian ocean....

Dhows are still widely in use for freight transport.
